Many of us have a big idea swimming around inside us. The problem is that hardly any of us are willing to try it.
About 10 years ago I read Elizabeth Gilbert’s book The Last American Man. The book is about Eustace Conway, a man who lives off the land not far from where my wife grew up near Asheville, North Carolina. It’s a really great, fun read that will inspire you, not only to get outside more, but to try more things others tell you can’t be done.
Conway is a true visionary. He has two important qualities. First, he has vision. He wants to re-teach western society how to appreciate and live off the land. Second, he takes concrete steps toward achieving his vision. What this looks like practically is Eustace attempting lots of things. Think how much farther many of us could get if we’d just try out the idea that’s swimming around in our heads.
Watch this 15 minute video of him telling his story. Notice the Vision and the steps he took. What’s your vision? Do you know the steps you need to take? If so, try. If not, get a coach.
